Mike Austin

Mike Austin has been broadcasting in Northeastern Wisconsin since 1977 and has had the pleasure of being a part of Midwest Communication since the the fall of 1980. Austin currently co-hosts the award winning Mike, Matt and the Morning News on WTAQ AM & FM where he enjoys the interaction and camaraderie he has with Matt Z.

Austin also is a 35 year member of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting doing agricultural and commodity reports on WTAQ as well as Midwest Communication Stations in Sheboygan and Wausau.

Besides his broadcast responsibilities Austin is also busy on the banquet circuit, serving as either emcee or speaker for over 60 events a year. Austin can also be found during the summer months at county fairs and dairy breakfasts.

Austin has received numerous recognition for his commitment to the broadcast industry and his community, including the Carol Brewer Award from the Associated Press and the Town of Bellevue Service Award for his work with youth in the community.

Mike is an active member of his church, a member of the Knights of Columbus. and a volunteer for youth organizations and community events.

Austin is also a big sports fan and although he Backs the Pack, his heart bleeds Badger Red and Brewer Blue.

Mike has been married to his best friend Connie for 38 years, is the proud father of three adult children, the father-in law of two lovely ladies and is excited to be the grandpa of two(looking forward to number three in May) grandchildren.
